I have to write a persuasion essay using two CBC online database. How do I do I get started?

My subject is: The primary mission of colleges and universities should be preparing students for the workplace.

Answer

Define your topic, in this instance, the mission of higher education to prepare students for the workplace.

Identity some key terms that you want to use to search the databases for articles, ex.

Higher education--Economic aspects; 

Labor supply--Effect of education on;

Economic development--Effect of education on.

Select your databases, ex. Academic Search Premier, and search by "Subject" using the suggested subject terms (above).

Articles from databases can be printed out, saved, emailed, etc. 

For assistance credting sources, please visit our citation styles guide at library.cbc.edu/citationstyles. (see provided link)

And don't forget that when you are off-campus, you have to access the databases through myCBC Portal.
